Jack Kemp (R) is dead. Served under Bush. Ran with Dole. 73 years old. Just reported now. Can't say I'm concerned. It's a politician. I'm sure his family is upset, though, so I feel for them. As far as Republicans go, Kemp wasn't the worst (Hell has reservation for the Bush klan), but as the Exploited sang, "I hate/You hate/We all hate/Politicians."

politico.com has this hilarious headline on their main page:
Specter says former Republican House member and vice-presidential candidate Jack Kemp, who died Saturday from cancer, might not have if the federal government had invested more in medical research.
"I think Jack Kemp would be alive today," if more money had been dedicated to the fight against cancer, Specter said on CBS's "Face The Nation."
DOUG! Jeezus, the man's death has barely been in the press for a couple of days, and these idiots are blaming his death on something other than the cancer he clearly had.
Boots on, indeed.
I believe the actual cause of death was cancer with swine flu related symptoms, which could have been avoided had the Bush administration funded stem cell research.
